The Welsh Dragon
Welsh Dragon Cufflinks.
Immortalised on the Welsh Flag, the dragon is transformed into a powerful cufflink design rendered in gold against a white background
The dragon has earned its place on the national flag of Wales because it is an enduring symbol of nationhood, and resilience. In legend, it was the battle standard of King Arthur himself. Following this tradition, the Welsh hero Owain Glyndwr had a Golden Dragon on his banner, which he raised over Caernarfon castle in 1401, when battling against the English. In 1953, the Welsh Dragon became a Royal Badge, and was added to the arms of the Welsh capital, Cardiff. The Dragon signifies Celtic pride and tradition, and remains a potent symbol of personal identification.
